CHS art students study expressionism

Campbellsville High School art students are studying abstract expressionism.

In Jo Ann Harris’s class, students are learning how artists use expressionism to convey emotion.

Abstract expressionism is a movement of the mid-20th century that featured diverse styles and techniques, and emphasized an artist’s ability to convey attitudes and emotions through their work.

Using chalk pastels, students were asked to create their own abstract expressionism pieces and then explain the emotion they represented in their work.
