CHS baseball team beats Taylor County

Campbellsville High School baseball team defeated Taylor County on Thursday, April 20.

 

The Eagles jumped out to a strong lead by scoring five runs in the first inning. The team scored five more runs in the third.

 

Final score was 10-7.

 

Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader Arren Hash got the win on the mound, with six strikeouts. CHS freshman Brennon Wheeler and junior Wyatt Houk pitched in relief.

 

For the Eagles offense, seven players had hits, including seniors Zack Bottoms and Donnie Osinger, junior Ethan Lay, sophomores Lane Bottoms and Ryan Kearney and eighth-graders Arren Hash and John Orberson.

 

Zack Bottoms, Orberson and Kearney each had two RBIs.

 

In the junior varsity match up, the game ended in a tie at four runs.

 

CHS will host LaRue County on Monday, May 9, at 5:30 p.m.

 

Kirby Smith is the head CHS baseball coach. Assistants are Blake Milby, Zach Lewis, Phil Gowdy and Lynn Kearney.
