CHS golf player signs with LWC

Campbellsville High School senior Noah Wagers will continue his academic and golf career this fall at Lindsey Wilson College.

Wagers recently signed his letter of intent in a special ceremony with family, friends, teammates and coaches.

“A very special day for Noah Wagers,” CHS Principal Kirby Smith said. “We’re very excited for Noah to further his education, first and foremost, and to play sport that he loves.”

Wagers came to CHS two years ago to complete his junior and senior years of high school.

“And he’s not missed a beat,” Smith said. “He’s a fun guy to be around.”

Smith said Wagers has been instrumental in leading the CHS Pep Club.

“And I know he’s going to be successful at Lindsey. He’s a good kid and has a good family.”

Wagers said he wants to thank God for the career he will have at LWC.

“I don’t know what I would do without God and my family,” he said.

Wagers thanked his CHS golf teammates for their support.

“I love you all to death,” he said.

LWC golf coach Eric Wyrick said he is excited for Wagers to join his team.

“Just in the short amount of time we’ve gotten to know each other, it’s awesome to see [your] character. I’m excited to welcome such a nice young man to my program.

“I’m excited about what the future holds with you. And I think there’s some good things ahead of you.

“We’re going to get you a good education and you’ll have a lot of fun with us. But I’m really excited to have such a solid, solid person to come to my team.”

Smith said Wagers will bring excitement and fun to the LCW program.

Wagers said he plans to major in massage therapy and hopes to one day work with the Indiana Pacers.

He said he chose to attend LWC because of the environment on campus.

“Right when I stepped on campus, it really felt like home,” he said.
