CHS students practice for AP exams

Campbellsville High School students recently spent a day at Campbellsville University preparing for their upcoming AP exams.

Monique Morton, director of math and computer science at Advance Kentucky, recently came to Campbellsville to lead CHS AP computer science students in a study session.

Morton talked to students about how to best prepare for the AP exams, and administered mock questions.

The CHS students worked in groups and individually to complete the questions.

Sonya Kessler is the CHS AP computer science teacher.

CHS formed a partnership with AdvanceKentucky in the 2015-2016 school year to expand its lineup of Advanced Placement course offerings.

And, as a result, students who take the courses and then pass subsequent exams will receive cash rewards for doing so.

CHS is the only school in Taylor County to have such a partnership with AdvanceKentucky.

As a result of this partnership, many more AP courses were made available to students for the current school year.

Courses include computer science, biology, English, U.S. history and much more.

At CHS, about 100 of the nearly 300 students are enrolled in at least one AP course.
