Campbellsville High School concert band students recently received distinguished ratings and have been invited to perform at a state assessment.
Each year, the CHS concert band performs as part of the Kentucky Music Educators Association concert band assessment.
The band performed on Wednesday, March 22, at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.
CHS perform three pieces of prepared music and then sight-read a piece they hadn’t seen before, and received scores on how well they did.
The band received distinguished ratings in each category, from every judge.
And, because the band received the highest rating possible from every judge, CHS has been invited to play at the state level assessment.
The state assessment will be in May at University of Louisville.
The band performed “Arrows,” “Fort Canterbury March” and “Joy.”
Zach Shelton is the CHS concert band director.
