CHS senior attends presidential inauguration

Campbellsville High School senior Zack Settle made his history books come alive recently.

Settle attended the recent presidential inauguration, and saw Donald Trump sworn in as the new president of the United States.

He attended the ceremony with his father, Kent Settle, who is instructional supervisor at Campbellsville Independent Schools.

An estimated 160,000 people attended the ceremony.

The Settles had a short trip to Washington, D.C., leaving their hotel room at 3:30 a.m. to get to the capitol for the ceremony on Friday, Jan. 20.

Settle said he and his father had to stand for nine hours before the ceremony began.

Having always had an interest in politics, Settle said he enjoyed seeing the presidential inauguration in person and not on a television screen.

Settle made all the arrangements for the trip, including securing tickets to the historic ceremony.

“It was an unforgettable experience,” he said.
