Campbellsville High School girls’ basketball team defeated Hart County on Wednesday, Dec. 21, in its Food Pantry Holiday Classic.
Final score was 61-38.
Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader Catlyn Clausen led her team with 16 points, and made all eight of her free throws. CHS junior Nena Barnett added 13 to the scoreboard for the Lady Eagles.
With the win, the team advances to the second round of the tournament, and will take on Metcalfe County on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the CHS gym.
Anthony Epps is in his first year as CHS girls’ basketball head coach.
Assistant coaches are Katie Wilkerson, Natalia Warren, George Eon and Debbie Gowdy-Smith.
After the holiday break, the girls’ freshmen team will take on Elizabethtown and Glasgow on Monday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively, at the CHS gym.
The JV team will play Spencer County on Monday, Jan. 9, at 6 p.m. at the CHS gym.
And the varsity squad will take on Taylor County on Friday, Jan. 6, at 6 p.m. at Taylor County High School.
