ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION

The Elks Foundation will award five hundred four-year scholarships worth up to $50,000.00 to the highest-rated applicants in 2017 competition.  Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need.  The top 20 finalists will participate in an all expenses paid Leadership Weekend in Chicago, in 2018, during which they'll interview with the national judges.  These 20 finalists will be vying for two first-place awards of $50,000.00; two second-place awards of $40,000.00; and two third-place awards of $30,000.00.  The remaining 14 finalists will be awarded $20,000.00.  The 480 runners-up will receive fifth-place scholarships of $4,000.00.

The Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship program awards 20 scholarships for $5,000 each.  To be eligible:

KASBO awards three $2,500 scholarships each year to students majoring in business or education.  In order to be eligible, the applicant must:

THE BURGER KING SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Burger King Scholars program awards scholarship grants range from $1,000.00 to $50,000.00 to offset the cost of college education.  It is open to high school seniors, Burger King employees, their dependent children, spouses and or domestic partners.  To be eligible, the applicant must:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

  • Be passionate about serving the community.

WHITAKER BANK / KHSAA SWEET 16 SCHOLARSHIP

For the third year Whitaker Bank, as part of its continuing title sponsorship of the Boys' Sweet 16®​, the KHSAA will be presenting four one-time $1,500 Scholarships.  The Scholarships are open to:

  • High School Seniors who participate in a KHSAA sanctioned sports and sport-activities.

KENTUCKY FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIP

Kentucky Farm Bureau will award 87 county and state scholarships to high school seniors for the current school year.  Scholarships may be applied to tuition, housing, books and other educational expenses.  To be eligible the applicant must:

 

  •  A minimum 23 SAT score OR Have either a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Be the child of a Kentucky Farm Bureau member and remain such while the scholarship is in force.
  • Finish high school within the year they apply for the scholarship.
  • For the seperate "Leadership in Agriculture" scholarship, applicant's parents must be actively engaged in production agriculture.

KENTUCKY HOMEMAKERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association is offering a scholarship to graduating seniors.  The scholarship may be used for full-time students who plan to attend any college or accredited higher education program in Kentucky with the intention of completing a degree in Family & Consumer Sciences.  This scholarship is renewable.  Applications are due by March 1, 2016.  See the guidance office for more information.

HEALTHCARE LEADERS SCHOLARSHIP

The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship program annually awards 15 scholarships of $1,000.00 to help pay for college expenses.  To be eligible, students must:

  • You must be at least 17 years of age.
  • Be accepted to or currently attending a nursing or medical related program at an accredited institution.
  • Have a current GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Submit a 600 to 1,000-word essay explaining what they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field and how the scholarship would help fulfill those goals.

THE GEORGE CRAFTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The George Crafton Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by the Auxiliary of the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts.  It awards a $1,000.00 scholarship to a high school senior studying agriculture between graduation and entering college:

  • Plan on majoring in agricultural or natural resources fields
  • Submit a completed application that can be found by CLICKING HERE   
  • Obtain two current, orignal letters of recommendation    
  • Submit their most recent transcript, and;
  •  A comprehensive essay as stated in Section V of the application.  The essay should reflect the applicant's true thoughts and opinions and not be rambling sentences in an effort to fill space.  The essays are very important to the judges making their final decisions.
  • The completed application and required documentation must be submitted to the Taylor County Conservation District by the application deadline.
  • The essay topic is to describe, "What I Foresee as the Future of Agriculture and the Important Issues Facing this Industry."

CONSERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES SCHOLARSHIP

The Conservation of Natural Resources Scholarship Program is sponsored by the Auxiliary of the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts.  It awards $1,000.00 each year to a college student who meets the following requirements:

  • Majoring in agricultural or natural resources fields
  • Submit a completed application that can be found by CLICKING HERE

The Betty Barrick Non-Traditional Student Scholarship awards $1,000.00 each year to a non-traditional students.  Applicants must be at least 25 years old and pursuing and under-graduate degee, other criteria include:

  • Planning on majoring in agricultural or natural resources fields

BLUEGRASS CELLULAR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Bluegrass Cellular is now accepting applications for their 2016 Scholarship Program.  This May, Bluegrass Cellular will award 15 one-time scholarships valued at $1,500.00 each to select graduating seniors who attend high school in Bluegrass' 34-county home service area.  To be eligibile the applicant must:

  • The applicant or their parents must be an active Bluegrass Cellular customer who has received service for a minimum of 12 months and be in good payment standing.
  • Must enroll full-time in a post-secondary institution or higher education program (2- or 4-year college / university, business school or vocational-technical school / institution) as a beginning freshman in the fall of 2016.
  • Applicant must have a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of application.
  • Obtain 2 letters of recommendation.
  • Type a 300-500 word essay explaining why you should receive this scholarship and the role it will play in helping you achieve your career goals.

KEDC SCHOLARSHIP

KEDC​ is excited to once again extend an opportunity for graduating seniors of our member districts to apply for our annual scholarship.  We will award at least one $2,500 scholarship for college (2 or 4 year), technical or vocational bound students that meet the criteria set forth.  Additional scholarships may be awarded; contingent on the amount of money raised during our June golf scramble.

USDA 1890 SCHOLARS PROGRAM

This scholarship is supported by 1890 Land Grant opportunities at Kentucky State University's Curriculums in Agriculture, Natural Science, Technology and related fields.  The program as potential to enroll new, current and future students into the Kentucky State University's College of Agriculture, Food Sciences and Sustainable Systems as well as other academic areas of study and academic institutions.

  • There are many areas of study that are acceptable, which are listed on the application.
  • Each award provides annual tuition, employment, employee benefits, fees, books, room and board, the use of a laptop, printer and software while on scholarship.
  • There is a requirement to work in the Student Educational Employment Program.
  • Upon graduation, there is an obligation of 1 year of service to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for each year of financial support.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Be interested in attending one of the nineteen approved Universities.
  • Demonstrate leadership and community service.
  • Submit an official transcript with the school seal and an authorized signature.
  • Submit a signed application (original signature only) postmarked no later than April 11, 2016.

FORT KNOX FEDERAL CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP

Fort Knox Federal Credit Union is offering a one time, $1,000 scholarship.  You must submit a completed application with your high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, ACT scores and an essay.  Applications are due by April 15, 2016.  For more information see the Guidance Office.

GEORGE CALDWELL, JR. MEMORIAL FUND SCHOLARSHIP

The George Caldwell, Jr. Memorial Fund will award scholarships generally between $500 and $1,500 based on application review for a one-time award only.  One scholarship will be awarded to a student studying agricultural science at the University of Kentucky.  Remaining scholarship awards will be based on selection by the George Caldwell, Jr. Memorial Fund Board of Direcors.  Applications are due to later than Friday, April 15, 2016.

TAYLOR COUNTY CATTLEMEN'S ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

The 2016 Taylor County Cattlemen's Association will offer two $500 scholarships to eligible graduating high school seniors from Taylor County High School or Campbellsville High School that are a child, grandchild or step-child of a member in good standing of the Taylor County Cattlemen's Association.  The applicant will be eligible for only one scholarship.  Applications must be received no later than April 15, 2016.  See the Guidance Office for more information on how to apply.

The Trustees of the Dr. William Olsen Scholarship Trust are pleased to announce the open scholarship period for the 2016-2017 scholarship.  Dr. William H. Olsen generously endowed this scholarship trust to help eligible students from Taylor County High School, Campbellsville High School and Green County High School pursue undergraduate educational programs related to the medical field.  Applicants must:

  • Demonstrate excellence in character, academic achievement and community service.

The Kentucky All ‘A’ Classic is pleased to again announce the availability of non-renewable scholarships/grants-in-aid awarded annually to deserving seniors from Kentucky’s small high schools who will be continuing their education at a post-secondary school within the state of Kentucky.  To be eligible, the applicant must:

  • Be a United States Citizen or in the process of obtaining citizenship and be a resident of Kentucky.

  • Be a Senior in good standing at a Kentucky High School that is a memeber of the All 'A' Classic.

  • Plan to attend a post-secondary institution in the State of Kentucky in the upcoming year as a full-time student.

  • Be drug free!

The Coca-Cola Company will award 1400 scholarships of $20,000.00 to eligible students.  To be eligible a student must:

13th ANNUAL ALLIANZ GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP  

This year six students over the age of will be awarded a $2,500.00 scholarship to enrich their education through international travel.  Entering "ScholarTrips" is easy: 

  • Applicants must be at least 14 years old and a U.S. citizen.
  • Create a 60-90 second video OR write a 500 word essay that answers the question:  "What inspires you to travel abroad?"

CIVIL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP  

The Kentucky Transporation Cabinet awards 10 - 20 new scholarships each year to qualifying students interested in attending the University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky University or the University of Louisville to obtain a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering.  To be eligible, applicants must

  • A copy of their official high school transcript.
  • A copy of their official ACT score report.
  • Two letters of recommendation from a guidance counselor, principal or mathematics teacher who is acquainted with the applicant's scholastic achievements.
  • The essay must be double-spaced using a 12-pt font.  A short essay describing the applicant's interest in a career in civil engineering technology with the Transportation Cabinet.

THE TAYLOR COUNTY CONSERVATION DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIP

The Conservation District will be offering two scholarships of $1,000.00 each.  This scholarship is offered to high school seniors only, to be eligible the applicant must:
